Liberty football unveils roster and updated jersey numbers for spring 2025

The Liberty Flames football team has released its updated roster and jersey numbers for spring practice which begins the first of 15 spring practices on Wednesday, February 12.

The roster includes a lot of new faces and jersey number changes. Here is a quick rundown of some of those changes and updates :

A couple notes:

• OL Austin Anderson, DL Kristyane Gregory, and CB Joshua Wiggins, who all had eligibility remaining, are not listed on the roster and had not previously announced they were entering the transfer portal. Anderson started at right tackle in the Bahamas Bowl and was a key reserve late in the season after recovering from a preseason injury. Gregory was a true freshman last year and did not see the field. Wiggins transferred to Liberty from Colorado prior to the 2023 season. He did not see significant playing time as he frequently fought through injuries.
• There are two transfers listed here that have not previously been announced. Jay Arrington comes from Averett where he was the teams starting long snapper and also played on the defensive line. Tay Shosola is a 5’11” wide receiver from Limestone. He played in 6 games this past season with 6 catches for 55 yards.
• Towson transfer RB Tyrell Greene is not listed on the roster. According to sources, he did not get his waiver for an extra year of eligibility due to beginning his career at the JUCO level. He was attempting to take advantage of the new “Diego Pavia rule.”
• The above list also includes several previously unannounced walk-on freshmen.
• A couple of position changes noted include Weston Woodard moving from the defensive line to the offensive line and Jacob Taylor moving from the offensive line to the defensive line.
