MANKATO, Minn. — The 2025 Minnesota State football schedule will feature 11 games, including six at Blakeslee Stadium.
As was the case a season ago, the Mavericks will utilize Week 0 as Minnesota State hosts Northwest Missouri State at Blakeslee Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 6:00 p.m. Last season, the Mavericks traveled to NWMSU during Week 0 as MSU topped the Bearcats 36-22.
Minnesota State then opens in NSIC schedule on Week 1 as Minot State comes to town on Sept. 6 for a 1:00 pm kickoff. The Mavericks bested Minot State 40-6 at Blakeslee Stadium last season.
Following its game against Minot State, MSU will hit the road for a couple of NSIC games starting with Minnesota Duluth on Sept. 13 at James S. Malosky Stadium. The Mavericks will then take on NSIC newcomer Jamestown on Sept. 20 at Charlotte & Gordon Hanson Stadium.
The Mavericks return to Blakeslee Stadium for their annual Homecoming game on Sept. 27 as they host Sioux Falls at 2:00 p.m. This marks the first time since the 1933-34 seasons (Bemidji State) that the Mavericks have hosted the same opponent in back-to-back Homecoming games.
MSU then heads to Sea Foam Stadium to take on the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears on Oct. 4, at 12:00 p.m. Last season, the Mavericks topped CSP 33-20 at Sea Foam Stadium.
October 11 will see the Mavericks return home for Family Weekend as they play host to Winona State with kickoff schedule for 1:00 p.m. This marks WSU’s first trip to Blakeslee Stadium since the 2022 season when MSU defeated the Warriors 40-13.
Minnesota State will be idle on Week 7, before heading down to Wayne State for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at Bob Cunningham Field. MSU defeated the Wildcats 35-28 last season at Bob Cunningham Field as the Mavericks scored the game-winning touchdown with :24 to go in the game.
The Mavericks open the month of November with a home game against Southwest Minnesota State on Nov. 1 with a 12:00 p.m. kickoff scheduled. Minnesota State defeated the Mustangs 30-12 during their last visit to Blakeslee Stadium during the 2023 season.
MSU then concludes its road schedule on Nov. 8 as it heads to Kirkeby-Over Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. game against Augustana. Last season, the Mavericks defeated Augustana 20-19 with a last-second field goal in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Minnesota State concludes its regular season schedule at Blakeslee Stadium on Nov. 15 as it hosts MSU Moorhead with a kickoff slated for 12:00 p.m. The Mavericks have won their last eight meetings with the Dragons, including a 24-19 win on the road last season.
The first round of the NCAA Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 22. The NCAA Championship game will be held at McKinney ISD Stadium in McKinney, Texas on Dec. 20.
