The CJ Stroud to Emeka Egbuka pipeline may be flowing again for Ohio State football fans.
With the former having turned into one of the best quarterbacks at the highest level in football, the Texans have blossomed into one of the best teams in the NFL, consistently making the playoffs. They will be picking near the end of the first round which is right where Egbuka is expected to be selected.
Egbuka is coming off his second-best season in Columbus, ending with 1,011 receiving yards, but his most prolific year came under the leadership of Stroud. Egbuka, in 2022, went for 1,151 receiving yards. Stroud had a conference-high in passing yards and touchdowns, going for 41 of the latter.
That said, the Ohio State receiving star has reportedly met with the Texans. Despite the Texans being littered with star receivers like Nico Collins and Tank Dell, this could be a good pairing moving forward.
The report came via Dylan Delgatto.
Most analysts have Egbuka mocked as a high-20s pick, so this would fit the mold. With the draft just weeks away at the end of April, time will soon tell if fans will get to see these two take the field as teammates again.
Houston will have pick No. 25, and the Steelers, just a few spots ahead of them at No. 21, have been consistently mocked to Egbuka as well.
