Missouri State’s first game as a Football Championship Subdivision member takes place Aug. 30 in Los Angeles against one the sport’s most recognizable brands: USC.
Year 2 of the Bears’ FBS era also starts with a noteworthy foe.
MSU announced Friday that the former Football Championship Division member will kick off its 2026 season on Sept. 5 against Texas A&M at historic Kyle Field. It will mark the first meeting between MSU and the Aggies of the football-rich Southeastern Conference.
The Bears will receive $1.2 million for making the trip to College Station, according to an MSU spokesman.
Other 2026 games scheduled for Missouri State include at home against Marshall (Sept. 19) and on the road at SMU (Sept. 26).
Missouri State begins its first season as a Conference USA member later this year, but will have a nonconference stretch that includes USC and Marshall on the road before playing SMU and UT Martin in Springfield.
USC is scheduled to pay MSU $1.15 million, the school confirmed.
