The Indian women’s football team will be in action at the Pink Ladies Cup 2025 football tournament, starting on Thursday in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
This is the second edition of the Pink Ladies Cup. Six teams from two confederations – the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) – will be participating in the upcoming friendly tournament.
The Republic of Korea, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Jordan and India are the teams from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) while Russia is the only team from UEFA.
Jordan and Russia were also a part of the inaugural edition of the Pink Ladies Cup. The other four teams will be making their maiden appearance in the tournament.
At world No. 20, South Korea are the top team in the competition as per FIFA Rankings. Russia are world No. 27 while Thailand (45), Uzbekistan (51), India (69) and Jordan (74) are all ranked inside the top 100.
The Pink Cup 2025 will serve as a preparatory tournament for India’s AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers set to take place from May to June.
India will face Jordan on Thursday before taking on Russia on Sunday and South Korea on Wednesday. All matches will be played at the Al Hamriya Sports Club Stadium in Sharjah, UAE.
Indian women’s football team head coach Crispin Chhetri has named a 23-member squad for the three matches.
“I think the Pink Ladies Cup will be an eye-opener for many of our players because they will get to know the standard. I think Korea are completely different from Russia. I watched their videos. Russia have a different kind of playing style. But when it comes to Korea, they are quick in transitions,” Chhetri said.
“We have to adapt to two different kinds of playing styles. Playing against different sorts of teams like Jordan, Korea and Russia will give us a clearer picture of creating a pool of players for playing against different teams,” he added.

Live streaming of the Pink Ladies Cup 2025 will be available on the Fanzone.TV website. There will be no live telecast of the football tournament on any TV channel in India.
