Over Presidents Day Weekend, more than 1,600 female high school athletes from throughout Florida participated in the Jaguars Girls Flag Preseason Classic and Girls Flag College Showcase at Miller Electric Center, the Jaguars sports performance facility. For the last three years, these signature events have served as the start of the Florida high school girls flag football season.
Each year, the Girls Flag Preseason Classic, presented by Experience Kissimmee, provides a valuable opportunity to promote the growth of the game and ensure that female athletes have an equal chance to showcase their talents in competitive game play. Nearly 60 Florida-based teams from as far west as Crestview in the Panhandle and as far south as Orlando participated in the three-day event, representing the largest number of participating schools to date and is the second largest preseason tournament of its kind in the nation.
The Girls Flag Preseason Classic was followed by the 2025 Girls Flag College Showcase where Florida and Georgia high school football athletes participate in a pro-style workout in front of college coaches and scouts. This year’s installment of the invite-only showcase welcomed a record-breaking 165 elite high school athletes who performed agility, position and 1v1 drill challenges for a chance to be awarded a college scholarship.
