Grass Valley, CA – The Gold Country YMCA is thrilled to announce the launch of its Youth Flag Football League, providing kids ages 5 to 13 with an exciting opportunity to stay active, learn valuable skills, and build friendships in a fun and supportive environment.
This co-ed league is divided by age groups, ensuring that participants play alongside peers of similar skill levels. The program emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and fundamental football skills, creating an engaging experience for all participants.
Registration is now open, and families are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot in the league. The season will include weekly practices and games, giving young athletes the chance to improve their abilities while enjoying the thrill of competition. No prior football experience is necessary—just a desire to play, learn, and have fun!
“The Y is dedicated to providing safe and accessible sports programs for youth in our community,” said Sierra Bamsey, Director of Marketing & Communications for the YMCA of Superior California. “Flag football is a great way for kids to develop their athleticism, teamwork, and confidence while having a great time on the field!”
As a nonprofit organization, the YMCA is committed to ensuring that all children have access to recreational opportunities, regardless of financial circumstances. We believe every child deserves the chance to play, grow, and thrive in a supportive environment. That’s why we offer financial assistance through our Y-Assist program to help make sports accessible to all families in our community. Financial assistance applications are available at ymcasuperiorcal.org/y-assist.
