The 2025 Fresno State football schedule is officially here as the Mountain West announced its lineup on Thursday.
Fresno State’s conference schedule includes an opener at Hawaii, three bye weeks, a trip to Boise State on Nov. 1, and the Bulldogs’ final Mountain West conference game being played at San Jose State. Fresno State will move into the Pac-12 in 2026.
The Bulldogs’ non-conference schedule was previously known: starting early at Kansas in Week 0, then hosting Georgia Southern for the home-opener, a trip to Oregon State, and then FCS opponent Southern and their Human Jukebox marching band in the fourth game. Because of the Week 0 start and a national college schedule with two byes built in again, the ‘Dogs will have three bye weeks in 2025 – all spread between the final eight games of the season.
Now with the Mountain West schedule known, here is the Bulldogs’ full rundown. Conference games are still subject to be moved to Fridays. The MW now moves to Phase 2 of the scheduling process, working with television partners CBS Sports Network and FOX Sports to make TV selections, decide Friday games, and some early kickoff times.

Fresno State’s Mountain West schedule will begin with a road trip to Hawaii – the Bulldogs’ last as Mountain West members. Following the five-game run and travel to the islands, the ‘Dogs will get a bye week to recuperate.
The Bulldogs will return home after the bye week to host Nevada – another “last” before Fresno State and the Wolf Pack split conferences. Then comes a “first” – the ‘Dogs make their first-ever trip to Canvas Stadium, the home of the Colorado State Rams built in 2017. The two games will be followed by a second bye week.
Fresno State then plays two rivalry games before bye No. 3. The Bulldogs host San Diego State and travel to Boise State in back-to-back weeks. The Bulldogs and Broncos will meet on Nov. 1 after missing each other last season. It will also be Fresno State’s first game versus Boise State on the blue turf since the 2022 Mountain West Championship Game victory. After the two trophy games, the ‘Dogs take their third bye before a final three-game run.
The last stretch begins with back-to-back home games. Fresno State will host Wyoming for the last time as conference mates, then welcomes Utah State into Valley Children’s Stadium. The final game of the 2025 regular season will be at San Jose State. Of the seven schools staying in the Mountain West, SJSU is the only program to schedule future non-conference games with Fresno State, so far. The Spartans will return to FS in 2026.
Fresno State will also miss three Mountain West opponents in 2025: Air Force, New Mexico and UNLV.
The 2025 season marks the beginning of the head coach Matt Entz era at Fresno State. The ‘Dogs will set the groundwork starting on March 7 with the opening of spring camp. Stay tuned to BarkBoard.com for coverage of spring practices as 21 newcomers join the team a mid-year additions.
