Four Tigers are heading to Indy.
Four Missouri football players have been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, which runs from Feb. 27-March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The league announced its list of 329 invitees Thursday, and it includes two Tigers who have been drawing first-round attention.
Former Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook, wide receivers Luther Burden III and Theo Wease Jr., and offensive tackle Armand Membou were invited to the drills showcase in front of scouts and league representatives.
Notably not included was Mizzou defensive end Johnny Walker Jr., who turned in a standout performance in the East-West Shrine Bowl last month and is currently projected as a potential late-round, Day 3 pick.
Burden, almost as soon as he stepped on Mizzou’s campus in 2022 out of East St. Louis, was touted as a Day 1 prospect when he declared for the draft. He made the widely expected choice to move on from the Tigers after his junior season in 2024 and is a near-ever-present name on Day 1 draft boards.
The wide receiver spent three seasons in Columbia and played 38 games, finishing his Tigers career as the fourth-best all-time pass-catcher with 192 receptions, sixth all-time in receiving yards with 2,236 yards, and tied for fifth all-time in receiving touchdowns with 21.
In CBS Sports’ latest mock draft published Thursday, Burden is projected as the No. 19 overall selection to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 2025 NFL Draft will be held April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and recent projections indicate that Burden won’t be the only Tiger who hears his name called on Day 1.
Membou, a Lee’s Summit product who played 36 games for Mizzou over three seasons, has shot up draft projections, with some outlets even projecting the tackle as a top-10 overall selection. CBS Sports has Membou at No. 11 overall and heading to the San Francisco 49ers.
Wease missed out on an appearance at the East-West Shrine Bowl while he recovered from a broken hand sustained in MU’s Music City Bowl win over Iowa in December. The experienced Oklahoma transfer played 26 times for the Tigers, catching 109 passes for 1,566 yards and 10 touchdowns.
In a seven-round mock draft put together by Pro Football Network, Wease is projected as a fifth-round pick for the Los Angeles Chargers. He will likely be a Day 3 prospect in April.
Cook is currently projected as either a late Day 3 selection or an early undrafted free-agency pickup. The three-year Mizzou starter and storied Tigers quarterback played 47 total games for Mizzou with 39 starts, passing for 9,251 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He rushed for 1,262 yards and 21 scores.
