2025 Wartburg Football Schedule Announced

WAVERLY, Iowa—Wartburg College’s head football coach, Chris Winter, has announced the 2025 schedule, which marks the 90^th season in program history since the College permanently settled in Waverly in 1935.
 
The Knights will open the season at home against Monmouth College on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. This is the first night home opener since 2023. Wartburg is 15-0 in night home openers in the Walston-Hoover Stadium era (since 2001).
 
The Orange and Black have won the last five-straight over the Scots and have opened the schedule against Monmouth in seven of the last eight seasons.
 
The final nonconference game on the schedule is against UW-Stout on the road on Sept. 13. This marks the first meeting between the programs since 2022. 

Wartburg will open American Rivers Conference play at Simpson on Sept. 20.

 

The annual Homecoming game is scheduled for Oct. 11 against Dubuque at 1:30 p.m.

 

“We are excited to get back to having five home games this fall,” said Winter. “Opening with a home night game against a great Monmouth College team will be an exciting start to the season. We also added a quality test in week two traveling to UW-Stout who was one win away from winning the WIAC championship last season. These two games will definitely prepare us for the challenges we will face on a weekly basis in the highly competitive American Rivers Conference schedule.”
