DeKALB, Ill. – On the heels of Northern Illinois University’s 2024 football season that included a historic win over fifth-ranked Notre Dame and ended with a second consecutive bowl victory, and in advance of a ground-breaking move to the Mountain West Conference in 2026, NIU Athletics launched its new Huskie Athletic Fund annual membership and 2025 football season ticket sales on Tuesday.
Season ticket prices remain unchanged in 2025 and still offer the best value in Chicagoland, while the new HAF membership structure provides a package of benefits to each donor based on their annual donation level.
“This is a critical time for NIU Athletics as we navigate the changes in college athletics while continuing to provide Huskie student-athletes with support needed to succeed athletically and academically,” said Sean T. Frazier, NIU Vice President and Director of Athletics and Recreation. “Building UP the annual fund and growing our revenue base while ensuring that our donors and season ticket members enjoy a great gameday experience at NIU remains a priority. We firmly believe this new benefit structure will help us to accomplish those goals.”
Adding new members to the Huskie Athletic Fund and increasing season ticket sales are key elements of Huskies Ascend: The Moment, The Movement, the Mountaintop, an overarching revenue generation effort designed to ensure all NIU sports programs have the resources and facilities needed to compete for championships moving forward.
In 2025, Huskie Athletic Fund membership benefits are associated with donations to the general fund, which supports all 17 NIU sports programs and 400-plus student-athletes. Each donation level provides a group of benefits (see chart), including football parking, access to hospitality at football and basketball, discounts and ticket priority.
In addition, donors beginning at the $100 level will receive either a Red or a Black Membership Card which will be used to determine access to the hospitality areas at Huskie football and basketball home games. The Red Membership Card allows access to pregame hospitality in the HAF Tent at football games and in the Victory Pub at basketball games for $10 per person. With the Black Membership Card, beginning at the $1,500 level, receive free access to both areas, along with an invitation to the post-game 5th Quarter gatherings. Membership cards are also good for discounts to Victor E. Threads locations (in person only) and University Recreation Center memberships.
In addition to hospitality, parking lot access has changed with the C (Convocation Center) Lots and Lot L (adjacent to Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center) now included as donor lots at the $100 level. Tickets to sit in premium areas at Huskie Stadium including the Sky Box, Sky Club as well as the Chairback and Benchback locations will no longer include a Premium Seat License (PSL) or be included as part of a Huskie Athletic Fund donation. Ticket payments (payment plans available) and Huskie Athletic Fund donations – which can be made on a payment plan or through a pledge – must be made separately.
The 2025 Huskie Athletic Fund Membership Guide details all of this information and more and is now available to view online. In addition, Huskie Athletic Fund staff members are reaching out to all donors and season ticket members to answer questions, review benefit options and more. The Huskies will play six home games at Huskie Stadium again in 2025 with the full schedule expected to be released in the next several weeks. Season ticket prices for NIU’s six 2025 home games remain unchanged from a year ago and begin at as little as $110 each for a general admission ticket which can now be used on the West Side (Section G) or on the East Side of the stadium. With the purchase of the Huskie 4-Pack (four or more tickets), pay $110 each for a reserved seat in sections A, B or F on the West Side. See the chart below for pricing.
Season ticket discounts are still available for those who qualify, including NIU alumni, NIU faculty/staff, DeKalb County residents, seniors (62+) and members of the Varsity Club. There is also a special rate for young alumni (individuals who graduated in the last five years).
